Job Description

M. Braun, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Software / Electrical Manager to join our Electrical Department.  This person will be responsible for overseeing the electrical assembly and software development groups, coordinating and assisting with electrical and software work, and participating in electrical and software program changes. 

This individual will be responsible for overseeing and directing electrical and software work for projects, including but not limited to:

  • Reviewing projects (internal and external), and creating plans for execution

  • Organizing work for team members

  • Coordinating work with subcontractors

  • Ensuring successful execution of work

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders

Project specific work required, including but not limited to:

  • Selecting electrical components and creating wiring diagrams for projects

  • Creating and modifying software

  • Creating technical documentation

The Software / Electrical Manager will also be responsible for the management of electrical design, electrical assembly, and the software development groups, including but not limited to:

  • Interviewing, hiring, reviewing, disciplining, and terminating employees

  • Overseeing the growth of skillsets within the group

  • Training personnel on standard operating procedures and hands-on skills

Additional responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for electrical design, electrical assembly, software development, and system troubleshooting

  • Requisitioning and implementing equipment used in the group for work

  • Coordinating with international team to ensure consistency in products

  • Overseeing UL508A program and compliance, including attaining UL508A Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR) certification

  • Overseeing product UL compliance – coordinating with UL to test and approve systems and designs

                          

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Job requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Experience with Siemens PLC design and programming required
  • Experience selecting electrical components and creating wiring diagrams in AutoCAD (or similar) environment required
  • Experience with other PLC (Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) components and programming a plus
  • Experience with Codesys programming a plus
  • Experience in ECSCAD a plus
  • Experience with TIA portal V16 a plus
  • US Citizenship (due to federal contracts in place, only US Citizens are eligible for consideration)

 

Experience

Combination of relevant college degree (bachelors, masters, PhD) in software or electrical engineering and directly applicable experience (5-15 years required)

 

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Physical Requirement: Some light lifting and carrying; must have fine motor skills; be able to grasp small items; ability to do a repetitive motion; and the ability to sit for most of the day.  Mobility requirement enough to move around the production area safety

  • Visual Requirement: Must be able to visually read wiring diagrams; and read from a computer screen

  • Hearing Requirement: Must be able to hear and speak on the phone and in person to convey information.  Must be able to identify hazard sounds and be aware of the environment on the production floor for personal safety

  • Mental Requirement: Comprehension, Organization, Reasoning, Decision Making, Communication and Mathematics
